Sometimes I crawl out of my own skull just to see what the hell is going on from another angle. Half the time I don’t even understand my own thoughts, never mind trying to download anyone else’s. And yet—here we are, billions of glitchy little consciousnesses colliding in parallel universes we call “lives.”
The system wants us scared. Afraid of the neighbor, afraid of the stranger, afraid of anything that doesn’t come shrink‑wrapped in the brand of “normal.” They sell us paranoia because empathy is unprofitable. Empathy is dangerous. Empathy is the unlicensed software they don’t want running in our operating system.
But our brains are wired for it anyway. We are built with the tech of connection, and they can’t patch that out. So maybe the point isn’t to live sealed in fear of one another—but to jailbreak ourselves back into recognition: the thief, the terrorist, the everyone is a predator paranoia? Strip away the boogeyman branding and you find… just another human, glitching through their own damn universe.
Alternate realities, colliding constantly. The question is: are you going to stay sandboxed in fear, or are you going to lean into the mess of connection and see what kind of pattern emerges?
The real bad guys? They’re glitched in a different way that never needed to be in the first place. Monsters are created, not born, and usually a lot closer to home and scarier to face. A little empathy at a critical juncture could have cleared up that mess before it became.
